9 months later…………….

It is hard to believe it has been almost 9 months since Lauren’s accident. Sometimes it feels like 5 years ago, and other times it feels like yesterday.

But God……..
Oh, but God, ……has been faithful, providential, and gracious through every aspect of this circumstance.

Jeff and I had the blessing to hear Steve Farrar, well-known speaker and writer, deliver a message this morning on the guardrails God provides for us in this life. One of the guardrails he referenced was taken from 2 Kings 3:18 which reads:

2 Kings 3:18
“18 This is an easy thing in the eyes of the Lord…..”

Wow, what an amazing word of encouragement! As we sat there, Jeff and I looked at each other and our hearts rested. Peace overwhelmed our spirits. Tears came to our eyes as we were reminded of the Hope we have in Him, and that to Him this is an easy thing. We were again reminded that He is our Refuge, and our Strength. And He is who holds us in the palm of His hand, to carry us through life’s journey.

Many of you face hardships, but lift your head high and be reminded as we were today that ” This is an easy thing in the eyes of the Lord…..” 2 Kings 3:18

Many of you continue to ask about and pray for Lauren. Thank you for your continued care and concern.

She recently was able to speak and share her heart in an interview with Savannah Guthrie:

May His love be upon you,

Thank you for sharing this wonderful verse! I had not been familiar with it.

I gain much strength from Gabriel’s response to the astonished Mary’s question as to how she could be with child without having known a man — “With God ALL things are possible!”

Not just the easy stuff, or the hard stuff, or the hard-to-believe but I guess it could happen, but ALL stuff! He is so wise, so loving, so powerful and capable of doing ANYTHING for us, more than we can ask or imagine!

Like Mary, we question but then listen, trust and obey. Then STAND BACK and watch Him work to achieve his perfect Will for us, as a father who loves us, wants only the best things for us, who will use us to glorify His name and thereby reach others! 🙂

Thank you for this blog, and thanks be to God for working through Lauren and you, and for your testimony. It blesses me.

    Mr. and Mrs. Scruggs,

I am so happy that Lauren still has that sweet spirit that you have always talked about. She is a beautiful Godly young lady and her testimony has and will help many people with their own walk. I enjoyed reading about her when this first happened and a I followed her story on the caring bridge website. All my hopes and prayers are still with her and your family. Take care and God bless!
