  1. That is a great question. What makes my marriage successful? After many difficult years and struggles even as a professing Christians we finally had the revelation from God that we have to stop focusing on each other and focus on him. Through teaching a class called Men’s Fraternity I was awoken to an idea that I now call my “core” being balanced. If Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life, if my wife is the second most important thing in my life only behind Christ and if my daughter is the third most important thing in my life only behind Christ being first and my wife being second than I am living a balanced life. Once my core is balanced all other effective ministry and life “stuff” will successfully follow that. We must die to ourselfish desires which may be a career, a pay check, a car or whatever and follow Christ radically, like a Jesus Freak. It seems that we very easily get life out of balance! The world is constantly screaming at each of us for more…… Even the church gets caught up in the world screaming at it for more time, more stuff, more this, more that. I have sat in church for many years looking at the back of the head of the person sitting in front of me and heard many great salvation messaages, but never once heard a solid message on how to me a better husband and father. It wasn’t until I sought out a spiritual father. This is another key to my successful marriage. I had another man who had gone before me, investing into me and out of his spending time with me the Lord Jesus Christ was able to plant healthy seeds. So live a balanced life with Christ really at the center, love your wife like the gift from God she is and invest in your children like generations to come are counting on you to get this right. Find a spiritual father/mentor and begin strentghen the roots of your faith.
